Why when I got a dog bowl out do dogs still drink from the potty?

They see a larger supply of water in the toilet, that’s all. Two bones otherwise equal, but one larger — they’ll go for the larger. Wouldn’t you?

Because it’s an American dog and it doesn’t know how sophisticated Eurodogs are; they are much smarter, never drink from toilets, and we should all emulate them. Yes, even people.

My dog does this.
I answer the phone, he runs to the toilet.
I am cooking, dog runs to the toilet.
I answer the door, dog runs to the toilet.
It’s like a game for him.

Because the only animal with less dignity than a dog is Bill Clinton.

Because they can't reach the kitchen sink.

Fresh every time you flush. Water in a bowl goes stale after a couple of hours. That’s why dogs and cats prefer a water fountain with charcoal filter.

My cats drink from the dog bowl rather than theirs.

The dog eats out of the litter box.

“Why when I got a dog bowl out do dogs still drink from the potty?”

Probably because the cat told him to.

Because dogs think you’re hiding the good stuff.

It is more flavorful.

Dogs are very observant animals and they follow the pack leader.

I went in the bathroom to brush my teet and I noticed salt on the floor. The little dog was putting salt around the rim of the toilet like he was drinking a margarita. He ate all the chips and salsa, too. Little sneak.

I lived in an all male except me household. I was outnumbered so I left the seat up. Who cares if the dog wants a cool drink that doesn’t taste metallic?

Even though this was only for about 15 years I never forgot to put the seat down for myself.

I lived in an all male except me household.

I had a roommate in college who was the youngest of 8 kids, and the only boy. He said the best part was getting to go on 3-4 day hunting or fishing trips with his Dad just about every month.

For the same reason, my outdoor kitty only comes inside to use the litter box.

Yep. I brush my teet three times a day and after any snack. People ask my how I get my teet so white. I go to the dentist twice a year and have the hygienist polish my teet. It hurts sometimes.
