So this is the plan? No pay? Free room and board? Is this a draft? Ya promise them medical care when the corrupt VA can barely take care of our veterans now?

Are all the legitimate young American supposed to run off and fight all these wars and bio/disease hazards/meals on military wheels while playing world cop, in places like Africa and Ustinkistan?

So all the legitimate American young people can go off and fight and die while tens of millions here illegally can stay behind and enjoy all the benefits of American freedoms without sacrifice?

BTW, if ya try drafting all these illegals you’ll see a mass exodus back south of the border. Bet the rent. They’re use to freebies, and making 20x what they were in Mexico and places like El Salvador. People are stupid. The illegals work their asses off because they suddenly make many times more $$ than before they crossed the border.

This is pie in the sky.

My son would be great in the military,

The lead from behinders come and go, Most only get one chance at the gold ring....Go for it! "Many are called, few are chosen."

I do not advocate for the combat arms, most of them are self selected.
I tried to point my son to something technical. Did not work; USMC Infantry, three runs in the sandbox.

Note that most jobs in the 'real world' are also required by Uncle Sam.
Served with a guy, that had been a ski instructor in Poland. His English was less than fluent. He thought they said Special Services. They actually said Special Forces!
He stayed for a quick run of thirty! And was in some very interesting events.

Sounds a bit too close to McNamara’s 100,000.

I served with a few of of the remnants of the 100k, good men all but not your first choice.

Yes, skilled leaders/managers can find a slot to utilize someone with fewer skills. Not optimal.

The Marine Corps used to have a fat boy platoon. Overweight when you get to MCRD? No problem. They put you in the fat boy platoon until you met the weight requirement and then you went into the next cycle. We used to see them exercising all the time.

I have met some that push for an ‘American Foreign Legion’. Times about one hundred.

Hessians have never worked.
A society that that is too cowardly to put it on the line cannot survive.

This is pretty much the idea. Basic training is too complicated with other stuff to deal with “ground level” problems found in the civilian world. By improving these people until they are up to standards, *before* they sign on the dotted line, it saves everybody time and money.

Improved recruits means improved basic training and AIT.

I see, you want all the tax paying peons to be “Team players” while your government is totally corrupt to the core.

Team player? Is that not some concocted greedy corrupt fat corp term from the early 90s? Work harder for less?

You might hoodwink some of these folks huldah, but not me.

By the way, ya totally evaded the comments and the question. No sale.
