IIRC, they performed a variety of “recounts” under a series of different rules and conditions. Gore only won one of those simulations, and it was under conditions the Gore camp didn’t even ask for in their court filings.
(And a reminder... when the unhinged left complains about courts stealing an election, it was the Gore camp that started the legal challenges - the Bush camp’s response was basically to force Florida to follow the law and not make up rules as they went along.)
Sounds like Rove is looking for a new job.
I think he sees the writing on the wall that Jeb isn’t going to be his $$$ train.
Gore would have only won if they had counted overvotes. People voting for Gore and also punching in the write in tab and writing in Gore.
There was a definite deceitful reason why his team ONLY wanted the votes in three counties to be recounted.
Rove was “damning Cruz with praise”. It has long been known in politics that the public tends to distrust academics and those who are “over educated”, and generally do not want to vote for them, in favor of someone “more common”.
And Rove is very aware of this. Plus, he hates Cruz. Cruz threatens Rove’s establishment Republicans as well as Rove’s own livelihood.
