One of the many tragic consequences of human-caused climate change is the nearly unprecedented lack of tornadoes during the first half of March.
According to Greg Forbes, severe weather weenie at The Weather Channel, the only other year when this happened was 1969.
Clearly, this is just one more example of how we are destroying the climate system.
Ping.
It was FREEZING.
All through tornado alley.
It will pick up soon.
Storms rumbling through Texas as the warm Gulf air starts coming up.
Thank you for saying that. My first response was that we were promised more and bigger tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and man-eating spiders as Mother Nature spanked her errant children for global warming. I'll start worrying about tornadoes once you can get water from the Great Lakes without chiseling it out and heating it on the stove.
Joe Bastardi calls for a more active tornado season this year. I’d say, batten down the hatches.
How are the people of the Midwest going to get their share of shark meat if there are no tornadoes?
The Weather Channel is just waiting for an outbreak so they can name it.
Yeah. And where’s the hurricanes? Sounds like storm abuse to me. Someone should sue algore. After all, he’s got plenty now.
Cyclones are being discriminated against too!
YES! Just WHERE are our tornadoes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I mean ... I’m really missing them! I always like to place bets as to how close one will come to our house and if one will hit it ... and we get a new house as a result! ... LOL ...
Come on now! We have can’t have any more of this Global Warming. I want my tornadoes back again ... :-) ...
Didn’t 2011 start off kind of slow?
Not if you were on Vanuatu several days ago. Something like 19 dead. Don’t remember the number.
Yeah. And wheres the hurricanes?”
If you don’t mind, we who went through the last one - Ike - don’t care if there is ever another one.
Tragic.
Uh, we got the triple threat when we were still in FL but lucky for us not the full brunt. Charlie, Jean and Francis if I remember right. But, I may not. Time fades memories of no power for weeks in August in FL. You know what I’m talkin’ about. :>}
Well, the DemocRATS are running everything so how can it be that everything is going wrong with the weather??
The post would be far better without that picture.
I do, I do. Charlie beat Punta Gorda to mush then came up the I-4 corridor and left the peninsula at Jacksonville. We too were w/o electricity for a week. we didn’t have much damage on the east coast but it wasn’t fun.
