LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The state of Arkansas once again has a major player in the U.S. political landscape. Freshman Senator Tom Cotton made international headlines with his letter to Iran and seems to be embracing his role as a polarizing newcomer in the U.S. Senate. And while he's been criticized heavily for his letter to Iranian leaders undermining the current administration, there are some in Arkansas would love to see Cotton make a run at the White House.

He already has my vote. He is fearless against the Kenyan thug.

If his strength and unwavering determination holds, in a few years he will certainly be presidential material.

There’s a freshman senator hatefully destroying the country now, so maybe it could be fixed by another freshman senator.

Just saying.

He already served in the House.

He’s not necessarily a freshman. Just in the senate.

A young GOP legislator who has actually served his country in uniform. Who would have thought!?

He has the courage to stand up to Democrats. How will he ever make it in the GOP?

While I think Fiorina is running a brilliant campaign for the VP slot...if she doesn’t pan out..Cotton could be a surprise pick..and he keeps his Senate seat..

That IS interesting, ken.

I like the ease of Tom Cotton’s face in the presence of the enemy. That half smile and near twinkling eye in the face of some hurl by a Bob Sheiffer type.

Tom is the coolest under fire I think I can think of. I’m never squirming for him, with his reaction and reply to the Obama props. He really doesn’t give a damn. He has been under much worse fire for real.

Totally agree with your assessment of Cotton. I really think Fiorina will get the VP slot...she’s auditioning for it now...superbly so..and if Hillary is the Dem nominee..well, who better that Carly to attack her...

Cotton, IMHO would make a superb Sec Def...he’d shake up the Puzzle Palace on the Potomac..aka the Pentagon...lawd knows it needs it..

With a last name like Cotton, the media is going to make him out to be a slave owner. The uninformed voters will believe it, too.

Soon as you said that I got this image in my head of one of those bleak campaign ads of a series of black and white still-frames of dirty crying children put to Dixie thrown into a minor key :(

It would backfire badly unless somebody could produce pictures of him dressed up as a Grand Dragon or something.

Great idea for Tom Cotton! Let him cut his teeth in DC running a spanking new Dept of Defense, that he cleans out from floor to ceiling of all the flakes and fairies!

Fiorina will gain ground and take off before long I think, as the competent mouth piece she is for softening up prissy Hillary, where the guys can’t. I hope she is able to go the distance no matter what, because taking Hillary down point by point as she tries to play the sex card is going to be vital.

He already served in the House.

He served in the United States Army ... service which I find far more valuable and honorable than serving in the House. "Experience" need not mean political experience.
