Apple was a major player in the smartphone revolution, which caused people to stop wearing watches. Now their big plan is to convince people to start wearing watches again?

My husband an I stopped wearing watches long ago. For one, the time of day is everywhere. Second, failing eyesight requires bigger displays, which we have on our smartphones. So for us, buying and wearing this watch just isn't going to happen.

Unless it comes with hot female attached to it, not interested.

as a 64 year old man, all these Phart Smones and iWatches are a damned nuisance as they are so difficult to see.

And I don’t need to know who “liked” me every 5 minutes.

The watch will supposedly know when you’re looking at it and turn off when you’re not, so you don’t have to worry about pressing the power button every five minutes.

In Obama's Amerika, wristwatch watches YOU!

Few devices could hold our attention for so many months without losing their allure

For me it's right up there with Charmin's latest toilet paper offering.

I for one HATE “new improvements” to toilet paper.

When they muck about with the product, I have to search out a new brand.

My bigger geek than me wife gave me a Samsung Gear S for Christmas. I wasn’t sure at first but it really is a great watch/phone/fitness tracker/calendar, etc.

It syncs to my Samsung Galaxy 4, runs a lot of the same apps, links to my work calendar events, music, and a lot more.

And yes, I do frequently refer to it as a Dick Tracy wrist radio. I can answer my phone while working at my desk and not have to stop working.

Apple’s product is of course more flashy, and about the same price but my experience with Apple products has convinced me that my watch/phone is better. Good luck to them, competition is good in these areas of technology.

Can’t imagine why anyone would spend so much money on one of these things. I don’t even know why most people these days would even bother wearing a watch. Especially younger folks.

Virtually everything we look at during the day has the time on it. If not, the time is prominently displayed on the phones we carry around all day. I’m sure they will sell the hell out of them though. The diehard iFans will buy them in great enough numbers for them to be considered a success.

Pretty much every millennial I know does not wear a watch. I myself stopped wearing one 15 years ago.

Like you, I feel Apple will be swimming upstream against a trend, but then again, they are the tech-and-consumer-savants, so we shall see.
