As a .308 guy, and an M-1A and FAL owner, I've never purchased an AR-15 or semiauto M4, but think I'm about to give in. One feature I want is the ability to use polymer magazines, eg the Israeli orlite 30-rounders. I remember it used to be the case that Bushmasters would only feed the first round from a polymer magazines properly. Has Bushmaster rectified this, or no? I want an AR-15 or M4 that'll feed consistently from any aftermarket magazine. I don't wish to be restricted to the gunmaker's propriety magazines, or to aluminum magazines only (which, unless I'm mistaken, at least used to be the case with Bushmasters).
Many thanks!
Go with Windham Weaponry - it's the old Bushmaster factory and the old Bushmaster employees, even. Great quality weapons.
My WW M4 will run on whatever magazines I care to use.
Any magazine that fits the AR M16 series of rifles alum poly or what ever well fit.
Some are better the others pro mag seem to be the best
Head to Cabelas or your other favorite gun place.
Why NOTHING other than MagPul!
I made the mistake of buying a Core15 AR. Some of the pmags won’t seat. No response from Core15 after multiple tries.
The same mags work fine in my old Bushmaster.
sounds like a gun problem not a mag one
My magpuls feed and fit fine in my bushmaster. No problems at all.
The Army uses magpul. There is a magazine torture test out there and Magpul did well, thermold not so much.
Shouldn’t that be polymer clips?
“I would avoid Bushmaster like the plague.”
My Bushmaster kicks ass ..different strokes for different folks.
My Bushmaster Predator runs PMags just fine.
So does my DPMS, my PoF, and my Homebuilt “Pirate” gun. All 5.56mm AR’s.
I have an old Thermomold 30rnd that won’t seat well. It sits in the bottom of a box of spare parts.
My next build will be an AR-10 variant. I’m done with the souped up .22 round.
Mossberg just entered the AR15 market last year.
My LWRC takes Magpul just fine. Your rifle sucks, get a new one.
Have 2 Bushmasters, fired thousands of rounds through both...never a single problem.
Take a few empties in with you before you buy it to try them. See if they drop free. Have the clerk do it if it makes them nervous.
So is that why I’ve seen bushmaster lowers sell for cheap prices lately?
I use polymer clips on my bags of chips...
Check out Palmetto State Armory which has several locations in SC. When I was working at a major big box, we’d get a lot of inbound transfers from PSA. Always good comments about their brand. Good luck.
