I could have used your help over the years as I tried to explain that polygamy was part of the gay marriage movement and libertarianism, that once “consenting adults” became the fact for marriage, then all rules would disappear overnight.

You and I get along on almost everything else. Why do you think I’m pro-polygamy? I don’t get it. Does polygamy have more historical roots than homosexual marriage? Of course it does, only an abject idiot would argue differently, that doesn’t mean I like it. But if same-sex marriage is now the law of the land, and it appears that it is, on what basis can the government ban polygamy? Bueler? Bueler?

Seems to me the endgame in all this is that marriage - as a secular institution - will become irrelevant.

If you have read my many posts on many threads involving gay marriage, polygamy and libertarianism and the left, then you know that I am the last person on FR that needs to be educated on what “consenting adults” marriage is, and that gay marriage was only the opening phrase.

That is why your take on polygamy has always bothered me so much.

If you are getting on board with fighting polygamy, then great.

Father - daughter incest has already gotten to New Jersey, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some non-recognized polygamy was already going on in places such as that already.
