Viral skeleton video sends powerful message

A new video from the "Ad Council" is really striking a cord on social media.  The video, which is part of "The Love Has No Labels" campaign features a giant screen positioned on a stage in front of a crowd. On the screen we see x-ray-style skeletons hugging, kissing and dancing.

Then, the "skeletons" move from behind the screen to reveal their physical forms. When they step out, we see everything from couples of different races, to a child with a disability, to same-sex families.

"While the vast majority of Americans consider themselves unprejudiced, many of us unintentionally make snap judgments about people based on what we see—whether it’s race, age, gender, religion, sexuality or disability," the Ad Council writes of the video and corresponding campaign.

"This may be a significant reason many people in the U.S. report they feel discriminated against," the statement continued. "Subconscious prejudice—called 'implicit bias'—has profound implications for how we view and interact with others who are different from us. It can hinder a person’s ability to find a job, secure a loan, rent an apartment, or get a fair trial, perpetuating disparities in American society.”

The video is set to the song, "Same Love" by Mary Lambert. Lambert is known for being a vocal advocate for equality.

According to the Ad Council, "The Love Has No Labels campaign challenges us to open our eyes to our bias and prejudice and work to stop it in ourselves, our friends, our families, and our colleagues."

Along with the video, the campaign features a bias quiz along with ways to help promote equality.

I hate being lectured to! Reminds me of those nasty anti-smoking ads that they show in New York State, makes me want to buy a pack and start smoking again! But I won’t...

We all make quick decisions all the time. It is part of being alive. The intent of the study is to inculcate a sense of guilt among people who are capable of feeling guilt. The guilt can be exploited by the Party.

I do not feel guilty about being alive - I love it. It is a gift from God.

The underlaying message of this is : Christians do not deserve mercy or love, hate all Christians at all costs.

More Leftist nonsense.

Diversity is NOT a strength. It is a recipe for societal collapse. Have you ever heard of the Tower of Babel?

Thing is, when they step from behind the screen they expose that they ARE different.

Their own sex, race, etc. has affected how they interact with the world - who they are. And, of course, the “skeletons” don’t show the REAL, tangible differences that make up who a person really is - their brain.

What a crock! These same “anti-bias” liberals would love to load all conservatives on to boxcars.

Only very ignorant and low IQ people - and children - would accept the simple message of the video as rational.

"Subconscious prejudice—called 'implicit bias'—has profound implications for how we view and interact with others who are different from us. "

So let me put this out there; perhaps this very same reason is the cause that we hear so many complaints? and why when looked at, the complaints amount to nothing...

Except for certain peoples' tendency to fabricate attacks, etc.

Because THEY have some implicit bias, they either misinterpret those that are different from THEM or outright dislike people that are different (from them).

Once again the dishonest left tries to palm off a moral sleight-of-hand. It is both deceptive and dishonest while not easily recognized.

It is not right to hold prejudice toward someone simply because they may have a disability, for example. However, it is not at all a matter of prejudice that I oppose and am against the advocacy and practice of homosexuality. The Left is laboring hard to acquire the moral high ground by claiming a moral equivalency between baseless prejudice and the practice of sinful behavior.

Oh big deal. Go to Las Vegas and the girl goes behind the screen and the next thing you know you wake up in a motel room and you’re late for the IRS Conference downstairs.

“We all make quick decisions all the time. It is part of being alive.”

Yep, people vilify “stereotypes” and “prejudices”, but that is how our brain is designed to operate. If we see something that looks like a lion, we cannot afford to suspend our “stereotypes” and see if maybe this particular lion is gentle and doesn’t want to eat us. Anyone with that particular tendency would get eaten and taken out of the gene pool.

So us survivors are descended from the people who stereotyped most effectively, and our brains are going to continue to do it, even if there aren’t any more lions around in our modern world.

Agreed.

They should have had one of the “Characters” emerge as, say, Hitler for example.

At which point the video announced the Federal Government's new "Fairness Doctrine", in which all citizens will be skinned alive to make things fair.
