Major Hewlett played by Burn Gorman doesn’t appear to have any conflicts. He’s purely duty bound and that’s all that matters.

Now Samuel Roukin does a really great job of playing Simcoe. I want to plant a claw hammer in his forehead.

I think my favorite episode is the one that started with them rounding up the guns “for everyone’s safety of course” and ended with gallows being built and suspects being pulled from their homes in the middle of the night.

After all this time, I’ll be rather put out (to put it mildly) if we get 6 episodes and then a mid-season hiatus. I know production values are a concern and the process takes time, but they should have been able to film a ton of episodes.

This was a solidly good series .......with no graphic or obscene moments ( so far)
Just good & fairly accurate storyline of our history.

Thanks for the heads up.

As you posted: “Turn is the TV version of the Culper Spy Ring story — George Washington’s web of spies which still have not been completely identified and which helped win the Revolutionary War.”

This is a great story about our intel war against the Brits during our war for freedom with them.

It shows the brutality of the Brit Bastards in what is now America.

It shows how important it was for the survival for our ancestors to have guns and this Intel on the murderous Brits and their allies here at that time.

The show got my wife and a couple of younger relatives into what happened to our ancestors before and during that time.

I wonder how "Turn" has been received in Canada, he's something of a hero to them although I doubt they're told how evil he was during the Revolution (it's hard to believe ringleader of the Hancock House Massacre would later become one of the first people to call for the abolition of slavery).

I think my favorite episode is the one that started with them rounding up the guns “for everyone’s safety of course” and ended with gallows being built and suspects being pulled from their homes in the middle of the night.

I agree, that was very telling.

Supporting good television is one of the ways we can fight the culture war and get a little history out to educate the public.

I’d love to see a series about the war of 1812 with a lot of attention paid to the unknown battles. We all know about the burning of the White House, Siege of Fort McHenry, and battle of New Orleans but the bulk of the fighting took place on and around lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The Battle of Frenchtown resulted in the largest single day loss of life on the American side.

It is a decent TV series based on the real life Spy Ring General George Washington and Major Benjamin Tallmadge organized and ran during the Revolutionary War.

Of course there is a good bit of artistic interpretation to flesh out the real life story but it is pretty good. Not as good as John Adams miniseries but AMC puts out a solid product usually.

in fact AMC's shows usually do very well with their only misstep I can think of right now is Rubicon and the series was very good acting and writing but it was billed as an espionage thriller and it was more akin to the slow-paced thrillers made in the 70s like All the President's Men where its all revealing of secrets and intrigue and no car chases and gun fights.

Turn is good. Not as much action but more character interaction and secrets within secrets and how the characters must try to spy for the Rebels and not be detected while living under the rule of the invading British forces.

Rubicon ... well, since I fancy the Le Carre style that sounds good!

I kept all the first season on my DVR. I only watched each episode once and I am saving them to watch again starting April 1.....that date is in “honor” of our current POTUS.
