Use pinhead oats instead of rolled oats.

Add a lot of real cream and sugar and it won't matter how sticky it is...

Well, it sure looks better than my oatmeal. I'll give it a try on the morrow.

A chief with dirty skin is going to tell us how to make oatmeal?
I don’t think so.

First time I ever had oatmeal was during Army recruit training (called "Basic Combat Training" here). It tasted like wallpaper paste...as did the "grits",which I also tasted for the first time at Fort Knox.
I've never tried either one since! ;-)

Throw some old fashioned oats in a bowl. Add some water. Microwave for 1 minute. If still watery add 30 seconds. Then put on brown sugar and rice milk. Yum.

I actually prefer my oatmeal to be sticky. It gives you that "full" feeling so that you do not have to overeat.
Also, I highly recommend tossing a handful of raisins into your oatmeal. That will further raise the fiber content - and we could all use more fiber in our diets. Even those who already think they have enough fiber should eat more fiber. They should always have more. More fiber.
Toss some flax seeds into that oatmeal with raisins. That will increase the fiber content even more!

Use whole rolled oats. Make with whole milk and a bit of water. Cook over low heat until the mixture comes to a soft boil, but not boil over and oats still have “crunch” to them. Stir in butter until butter melts. Use desired sweetener. I prefer honey. Yum!!!

He just jacked up the calories immensely with his additions of large amounts of apple, sugar and maple syrup. It is healthier to make a large pot (8 servings) of steel-cut oats adding only one pack of stevia, then divide it into one-serving containers in the freezer. Waahen you want to eat it, microwave it for 1:29. After microwaving, stir in only1/4 cup of fruit (unsweetened blueberries, applesauce, pineapple, etc), and avoid all those calories.

Soaking the rolled oats overnight makes the texture perfect and speeds up the cooking process in the morning. Serve with heavy cream and real maple syrup and it is fantastic.

1) Make oatmeal. Old Fashioned rolled oats, water, salt. That's it.
2) Scoop cooked oatmeal from pot into bowl.
3) Add half a stick of butter to the top.
4) Enjoy.

After a couple of years of powered eggs my WWII dad wouldnt go near scrambled eggs for years and years. Powered eggs give a real rush to the morning. ;)
