My son was born in Nova Scotia. He died an IS extremist in Syria. (Blowing chunks alert!)
The Globe and Mail ^ | Tuesday, Feb. 17 2015 | CHRISTIANNE BOUDREAU

Christianne Boudreau has campaigned about the recruitment and radicalization of young people in Calgary and across Canada. She is currently involved in establishing Hayat Canada, a group which supports families to assist with deradicalization, and helping to form an international mothers’ organization for those whose children have fallen prey to violent extremism. A little more than a year ago, I received the news that no parent should ever have to hear. I was told my child had died.

The death of one so young is impossible to understand. For me, my son’s death was particularly incomprehensible. Damian was killed in Syria, fighting for an extremist group, aged just 22. But although he died thousands of miles away from home, the seeds of his radicalization were sown right here in Canada.

Damian became a Muslim when he was 17. Like many young people, he had experienced some difficult issues when growing up, and was trying to discover his own identity. Becoming a Muslim had a calming effect on him. I was happy too, because for the first time in a long while, he seemed content.

Actually, from what I read, this mother is trying to educate other parents and concerned people in Canada about the dangers of radicalization of their you.

Frankly, I don’t find what she iterated and explained int the link to this story to be liberal pap at all. Maybe I’m just too old and stupid to understand, but it didn’t read like pap to me.

so did she raise her “angel” to embrace moral relativism causing him to pick what he perceived to be the “strong horse” in his subconcious?

“Standard liberal pap...”

The whole article simply reeks of it. For example, her son started having some “issues” as a teen. Okay... then why allow him to become a Muslim? Couldn’t the same issues have been treated if this woman brought him to Christian/Jewish services? Couldn’t she have sought a minister/priest/rabbi to assist? But no... she goes on to say she was initially “happy” with his decision because it “calmed” him. Calmed him until he started ranting and showing anger. Sheesh...

Not much info is given about this woman. Did she marry a Muslim? Did her son grow up in a Christian family, a non-religious family, or something else?

From what I've read so far very few youths from non-Muslim families become Islamic radicals. I can't believe many non-Muslim Canadian youths are attracted to Islamism same as American or other western youths.

But at any rate, his death should serve as a warming to other stupid youths who seek glory through murdering infidels.

The kid left for Egypt before he was 21...if they didn’t like that happening they should have had his passport locked up. Parents need to be parents.

All this BS could have been avoided if they had barred muzzies from entering the country in the first place.

But no, they continue to do so and the problem will only be exacerbated.

C'est de valeur.

BFD, Gamil Rodrigue Liass Gharbi, aka Marc Lepine, was born in Montreal, but still went on to kill 14 women, and another 14 shot, most women, before ending the spree by killing himself.

Boudreau ... French-Canadian name. The Quebecers have abandoned their Catholic heritage en masse ... it’s so reactionary, old-fashioned, anti-woman & sexually repressive.

So they become Muslim terrorist fanatics. /s

I have no doubt that Damian went to Syria committed to helping others.

Yes. Committed to helping them slaughter innocent people.

Just like Black muslims, they were typically raised Christian, they renounce the religion of those who owned their ancestors, and embrace the religion of those who not only owned, but SOLD their ancestors, and in many cases still own and sell their brethren.
