What do you do when you have a cast and director who make a great film noir? You get them back together to make another one! The stars and director from (the previously shown) The Woman in The Window are reunited for this gritty noir of misguided love, deceit, and murder. Starring Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett, and Dan Duryea. Directed by Fritz Lang. Quality 720p print.

KEYWORDS:
Another great collaboration from Edward G. and Fritz Lang. The really interesting thing about Scarlet Street is that despite recycling many of the elements of WITW - the film could not be more different in tone and feel. Scarlet is darker, seedier, and with far fewer heroes. Everybody seems to have some dirt under the fingernails, so to speak. The film's climax would not be out of place in a good German opera. 8/10

Ping.

As always, feel free to post or mail me if you want on or off my pinglist.

And, if you’ve asked to be added and I forgot to add you, feel free to administer a Leroy Jethro Gibbs headsmack to remind me.

Thanks for the post. But do you really expect anyone to watch a movie tonight? I have to work tomorrow. Well, on second thought—never mind.

You can watch it whenever you want. Most of the movie ideas are good ones. Once in a while, I’ll watch one on a Friday, but usually I grab a download and watch it whenever.

It *is* rather late in the evening. Later than ideally I’d like to post. A consequence of working later hours at my job now, I’m afraid. But hey, Saturday afternoon is a good time to watch an old movie, too. :-)
