Boasting seven decks, two pools, multiple hot tubs and a 275 square metre master suite, a new record-breaking superyacht is set to redefine the limits of luxury boat building. Costing £788million to build and measuring 222 metres in length, when completed Triple Deuce will be the most expensive and largest superyacht ever constructed. The luxury boat will surpass the remarkable standards set by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich's 163m Eclipse, and the current record-holding 182 metres-long yacht owned by the President of the United Arab Emirates.

A fool and his money are soon parted.
Think of all the politicians he could buy with that money.
Let’s see him put that on top of a Jeep like I do my kayak.
A few thoughts: 1.) How can your troll with a boat this size? 2.) If you did catch a fish, how do you get it on board? 3.) Where in there world is there a nice marina that would handle a ship this size? I would think it would have to dock near cruise ships or container ships. That doesn’t make for a pleasant view.
“Think of all the politicians he could buy with that money.”
A smaller investment in politicians may have funnel the money to him to make this purchase.
Yachts of this caliber are used as charters. 595,000 per week [595,000 GBP = 910,198.76 USD] Yacht owners can recover most or all of the money they spend on boat maintenance and operations by renting their floating resorts to celebrities and others. Owners renting their boats for 8 to 10 weeks a year can generally recoup most, if not all, of their operating costs.
Many owners with successful charter businesses are able to deduct chartering expenses from other income sources at tax time. But these advantages may apply only if the owner demonstrates intent to operate a profitable business and limits his personal use of the boat.
When the Excellence is at Herb's dock, it is mammoth! Takes several days to fill the fuel tanks.
“This is great. Think of all the jobs this purchase created and will create.”
My thoughts too. I hope people like him buy more yachts, mansions, & planes.
ahaha INDEED!
Sounds like a bug-out boat.
What purpose does it serve, at some point doesn’t it pretty much cease to be a boating experience for an owner?
I love to watch the competition between the rich in their quest for “one upmanship” as it creates jobs. Would these jobs and yachts exist if taxes and the government took everything? Of course not. The government would take in revenue and either pay out to cronies in contracts or buy votes from those dependent on welfare and other assistance programs. At least we get a good product from these funds being spent. While the jobs may not be full time, there will be skills learned and technology developed that will have future applications. And who knows what billionaire will step up to surpass the extra 40 meters?
I look at them as floating jobs programs. Instead of the owner buying a sculpture made of solid gold and fondling, it, he paid the salaries of several hundred craftsmen for several years. And it will cost 15% of the construction cost PER YEAR to keep it up to snuff. That means the jobs program goes on as long as the boat floats. I say, salute the owner as a hero for spreading his wealth around to the 100s of skilled craftsmen and women who built her, and the crews who will man and maintain her.
Nice boat. We have a 40 ft Yorktown with the same color sail covers.
Enjoy!!!
The jobs don’t stop on launching. It costs 15% of the construction cost per year to crew and maintain them.
These are the greatest jobs programs around. 100s of skilled laborers work on them during construction and forever.
One man boat yard circa 1991.
I’ve seen your boat and it’s a nice one. Hubby has a cousin that loves to go on the boat with us. His saying is....any day on a boat is a good day.
I don’t know how to post pics on here or would post some of ours. It just came out of the yard after a makeover and looks nice.
Putin is probably the owner of the thing already.
Sounds like a bug-out boat.
That’s what I thought of first. Maybe someone has been reading the “Sovereign Spirit Saga”?
Richard Branson at play....John F (Vietnam) Kerry eat yr heart out.
