The market for Mexican marijuana has dried to a whiff and everybody and his mother is growing their own product, says a Puebloan who has been selling pot here for more than 20 years. - The current legal recreational market is fueled by people from out of state, Tracy said. Colorado users, weary of the high taxation on the product, have taken to growing, getting their red card for medicinal marijuana or even using Craigslist to score pot. - See more at: http://www.chieftain.com/news/3292183-120/marijuana-tracy-market-dealer#sthash.D9Z5fiLF.dpuf

Mexican weed wouldn’t get ya high but it would give you one bastard of a headache.
I fear his plants would get taller than the walnut trees.
They do control the production in the licensed shops. I will check, but I believed six plants for personal use is legal. Grow it next to the gurney girls and cold sets in the garden.
Yup its called Mexican dirt weed for a reason. Its almost never seen here in the North East anymore. The local corn is way better.
Not even our local Mexicans would smoke that crap.
$560 an ounce... I’m stuned!! And more for the primo!
At that price there’s little curtailment of criminal sales going on.
Well, I can understand a retiree spending $20 for a few thrills in a month. I think pensions used to be informally set at room, board, and “a pint a day”.
That is why I support legalization. To get rid of the crime component.
“No, people cannot grow their own, at least not legally. Production is highly regulated.”
The man gots ta have them taxes.
You just brought back some memories.
(You knew what you were doing.)
The tax is nearly half of that. Colorado has a taxpayer Bill of Rights. Excess tax goes back to the people. All of us get a tax break. And as the article says, most of that legal weed money and tax money came from out of state.
“Excess”... only until the politicians can pass new budgets to spend it. The extra taxes will disappear into the budget like the state lottery “just for schools” money did here.
We’ll see what happens. Maybe the taxes will be reduced if all goes well. But if locals are allowed to grow their own, and 6 plants sounds pretty generous to me, then the high taxes will stay as out-of-state people are the only ones paying it.
Interesting experiment.
Oh, I smoked it a little whenst a young strapper. I even inhaled. That was 48 years ago.
We call it swag down here in the southwest. Not worth the price of a match.
Don’t worry. Mexican cartels will have no problem making and distributing Meth with the full faith and cooperation of the Mexican government.
yup. same thing as the “my neighbor doesn’t believe in guns” sign ideas.
send em to the idiot states and let them cause their chaos there.
You say mexi weed is poor quality and that is true, but take those seeds and raise them right, and they can turn out mighty fine.
in theory, that is.
you are off just a bit on your price...there are 28 grams to an ounce no? 28 X 25.00 = 700 an ounce.
