" Get an older vehicle that does not have any computers. "

I have a land rover defender 110 with the original military diesel engine. Says clearly on it that it is certified against EMP. Also runs on the crappiest diesel in the world. Even cooking oil. Engine very easy to fix.

Not hard to get. Get an old 110. Many are ready to camp.

“Get an older vehicle that does not have any computers.”

El Correct’0! You’re the only poster in this thread to bring this up. In the event of EMP fallout, natural or man made, virtually anything with solid state technology in it becomes inoperable. In auto’s this means any vehicle manufactured after around 1970 +/- a few.

Buy a plot of land in the middle of nowhere and keep the well stocked camper there.
Have a couple of on/off motorcycles handy at home to get you there when the shtf.

Not a good idea at all, and in some instances with mass evacuation it is illegal to tow a trailer or another vehicle.

You lift up the hood to access the camping toilet.

Toured one of those at a rest stop. The guy was glad to show it off. Very cool. Very spendy!

About $315,000....and that’s the base model. There are 6 pages of add-ons and extras available.

I thought a pitfall of the huge grill guards is that if you do get into a crash they just get folded up into the radiator and rest of the truck.

For the price, you could just go buy a Peterbuilt sleeper cab.

It’s diesel. Giant fuel tanks.

Most numerous parts in the USA and every mechanic knows how to fix it.

Unfortunately I think everyone who sees that vehicle will believe it will come in handy for them in a SHTF scenario.

Unless it’s armored they can touch you inside it.
