I have a land rover defender 110 with the original military diesel engine. Says clearly on it that it is certified against EMP. Also runs on the crappiest diesel in the world. Even cooking oil. Engine very easy to fix.
Not hard to get. Get an old 110. Many are ready to camp.

Now all you need is to store some extra tires in a barn, somewhere.
The V-6 really is the engine to have with the standard transmission.
