I think civilians (especially Westerners) would be well advised to avoid this part of the world.

It is always sad when a young person dies.. My sympathies to the family.. but this was a feel good new age liberal family that taught her and that raised her with the Obama philosophy that if you are just nice everyone will love you ... we see where that get you

She looked exactly like her mom. One of those uncanny resemblances the family must now learn to live with each time the Mom looks in a mirror. Poor girl, this was the wrong venue for a Peace Corp approach.
I do suspect that this young lady has been long dead anyway.
Don’t bet on ISIS dealing in an honest fashion. I would expect them to take money from this grieving family and ‘never quite get around to’ returning the girl alive.

Before the news conference, I read the family did not want Obama to lunch military action to rescue her. Could be a lie to protect him, or the truth.
Welllllll I guess that Ms Mueller felt an “existential” threat from ISIS.

The people who convinced this young woman that all religions are equal bear a significant amount of responsibility for her death. They should repudiate their views and spread the bad news about Mohammedanism.
The first woman who spoke freaked me up as she was continually smiling. Maybe she is one of those people who have a hard time when evil happens and smiles in spite of it all - mostly through nerves. I have a niece who tends to giggle when she is extremely nervous.
OTOH, I was so bothered by her that I could hardly watch her. I kept thinking she was focused on herself being the center of attention - and I did not my reaction at all.
The others who spoke were so sad and grieving.
