Anyone who has lived with peahens and peacocks will understand why someone would shoot them.

Do they really? I often wondered about that.

Oh, hey, guess the SPCALA is claiming ownership of these domesticated animals and all the homeowners in the area should start filing small claims cases against them for damage caused by their birds.

Does CNN have a camera in a helicopter circling the scene to provide coverage of this earth-shaking story?

The Peacocks are as loud as they are beautiful.
They can also be aggressive, putting those long talons to full tearing up use. Just like Canada Geese, they are charming and a few can add a positive ambiance to an outdoor setting.Who doesn’t like watching a mother goose followed by all her fuzzy ducklings? Too many creates a nasty, noisy mess!

I knew a girl whose neighbor called the cops saying someone was being murdered because of another neighbor’s pet peacock making that noise. They went to her house with guns drawn, she happened to be smoking a joint and they arrested her for that.

Beyond which, Canadian Geese are very destructive to property when too many start coming in. Why those blasted things are “protected” in some parts of the U.S. is beyond me; they are flying rats.

Where my daughter works, there are several large water retention ponds they put in for flood control. So many annoying Canada geese showed up, they had to hire a guy that brings in Labrador retriever dogs 3 times a week to chase them off.

An Aunt of mine had a small herd of peacocks for years. They could make some racket.

If the birds are roaming freely then they are either; feral birds and a public nuisance which should mean that state wildlife officers do not care if you kill them or they do belong to someone then that person is guilty of failure to contain and control his animals.

Either way I can certainly sympathize with the person who has been shooting these birds.

I work a rotating shift and I cannot imagine trying to sleep during the day with those obnoxious birds screeching outside my house.

Yeah, they used to have them at the petting zoo at the “Burt Reynolds Ranch” in Florida, where we would visit every year.

I learned pretty quick that the peahens and peacocks could get aggressive. The llamas and sheep were sweethearts, but if you looked at a peacock the wrong way, you better be ready to run and hop that fence!

The local zoo has them. When the females are otherwise occupied with the babies, the males will pursue anyone or anything female. I had a big male once follow me around most of the zoo. Goofy thing even displayed his plumage for me. I had to duck into the indoor aquarium to get away from him.

My brother lived Ina neighborhood just south of Suisun Ca where there had been an old house with a peacock farm. When they built around it they just tore down all the fences and the house and left the barn and the peacocks. It was like a green beltway. The peacocks roamed wherever they wanted and dug everything up. Every yards new landscaping was destroyed.
We spent a weekend there and they kept me up all night screaming. Got up the next morning and went out to get the paper.....peacock poop on the front doorstep.
They’re beautiful but darn.........
