Scientists tracking the Ebola outbreak in Guinea say the virus has mutated.
Researchers at the Institut Pasteur in France, which first identified the outbreak last March, are investigating whether it could have become more contagious.
More than 22,000 people have been infected with Ebola and 8,795 have died in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Scientists are starting to analyse hundreds of blood samples from Ebola patients in Guinea.
They are tracking how the virus is changing and trying to establish whether it's able to jump more easily from person to person.
"We know the virus is changing quite a lot," said human geneticist Dr Anavaj Sakuntabhai.
"That's important for diagnosing (new cases) and for treatment. We need to know how the virus (is changing) to keep up with our enemy."(continued)

Interesting. Was it last year or this year there were some funding cuts made to labs who mutate viruses in order in increase the efficacy of their vaccine. I did notice the funding cut was for flu, MERs and maybe coronovirus, IIRC. I don’t think they cut taxpayer dollars for ebola mutations. I guess people still think their vaccines just appear with some fairy dust.
First rule.. Shut the lab door... O wait, then we couldn’t create the vaccine. Didn’t swine flu start near a lab?

Heard (from Liberia immigrants) that America is the cause of the plague due to a lab releasing the virus. They do not want us there. Take a poll, find out if it is true and let them handle it themselves next time. Keep our boots home.

I swear, the way people go on about mutations is ridiculous. Everything that uses nucleic acids mutates... it's the nature of nucleic acid to do so.
