Chipper song, thank you for posting it. Have heard of Gus Kahn but not of Paul Specht.

It doesn’t sound right without the snaps and pops of the original recordings. I think the talented musicians who played the snappoppers in that era were never given enough credit.

There was also a really good Ben Bernie recording of this tune that was concurrent with this one, in 1928. His band made two recordings of it, one with a vocal, for domestic release, and the other being entirely instrumental, for overseas release (in South America, I believe). That latter is particularly a gem, probably Bernie’s hottest/jazziest recording.
