During TCAs winter press tour, FX CEO John Langraf revealed that Ronald Reagan will figure into the second season of the networks hit anthology series.
It covers something that was referenced in the first installment by Lou Solverson, Molly Solversons [Allison Tolman] father, Langraf said. Its a big sprawling, in some ways, more comedic [season], though at times, a very serious show. Its set in the late 70s against the backdrop of Ronald Reagans first campaign for President of the United States. Reagan is a character in it.
After the panel, Landgraf confided to EW that Fargo will actually be casting the role of Reagan, not using archival footage. Reagan will be interacting with our characters, he said, noting that the role has not yet been cast.

For those not familiar with the original film and first season of the TV show, and wondering why it doesn't take place in North Dakota, that's a little quirk of the franchise. The movie mostly took place in Brainerd, MN and the first season of the TV show mostly took place in Bemidji, MN.
IMHO, it's a good watch, but certainly not on the level of Justified or Breaking Bad.
The movie was the best.
This will be the 76 election where Reagan challenged the sitting president Ford. If Lou Solverson is the prime character there should be a big to do in Sioux Falls SD.
Reagan’s first campaign for president was in 1968.
Rastus,
Best show on tv.
Billy Bob was great.
I have to wonder about Hollywood’s portrayal of anything. It’s an industry run by porn/sex maniacs, who are overpaid and hate Christian values.
Fargo, never saw it, never will. It’s propaganda.
Aw geeze
One time bump for the night shift.
