Surely you jest.

Have you never seen “The Wackiest Ship in the Army?”

Oh and by the way, nice post. Well done.

“when the movie ended in a packed theatre, a few people, me included, were drying eyes, but the theatre was absolutely silent and stayed that way. no one moved for a while then the whole theatre silently filed out.”

Well written and quite succinct. You don’t need to say more.

You paint such a good picture there.

I hardly ever go see movies anymore.

Your description above is so captivating that I wonder if I want to have such emotions with a bunch of random people also at a movie theater.

We’ve got a lot of Chris Kyle/Clint Eastwood haters roaming the board today. A lot of them are upset about a fake fight mentioned in the book supposedly between Kyle and some guy who made a living participating in fake fights on TV.

Wasn't "Kelly's Heroes" the greatest war movie ever made (and a young Clint Eastwood even played the main character in that one!)?

:-P

I felt like a fly on the wall, watching Kyle’s life unfold, rather than sitting in a movie theater thinking, “Hey that’s Bradley Cooper.” I was completely pulled in.

Is that wrong? The same thing happened in theater I was in. I’m not ashamed to cry in public and I found it gratifying that others were similarly moved. I will certainly by the DVD when it comes out and enjoy crying in the privacy of my home again and again, as I do when I watch Lone Survivor. Chris Kyle had a remarkable and short life but he accomplished a lot for the country and his family.

Nothing wrong. If anything is wrong it would be with me.

I just don’t know I want to experience such deep emotions with all these strangers.

I second ifinnegan’s praise. The movie must be great, it’s breaking all kinds of box office records, and your’s is certainly the best short review I’ve ever seen.

Probably the most emotional moment I’ve ever had in the movies was when my friend’s dad took her and me to see “Captains Courageous” in one of the great old revival theaters, back in the day.

At the end there was literally not a dry eye in the house, even my friend’s dad was treary eyed, and I’m sure he’d seen the movie before, maybe many times before.

I actually love that experience, it’s a real part of what makes going to the movies fun. I used to esp. like to go see action movies with the rowdy crowds in Times Square.

Is there any sniping in the movie? The previews I’ve seen only show him talking to his wife on the phone.

I understand. I’m an introvert, yet, I didn’t mind the outpouring of others’ emotions. The theater was pretty dark and everyone was focused on the screen. I was too engrossed to wonder whether others were looking around at what everyone else was experiencing.

Perhaps I will go see it in the theater.

I have not gone to a movie in a long time.

I was shocked to hear Greg Gutfeld and Juan Williams tell Eric Bolding on “The Five” that they were sympathetic to Jesse Ventura in his suing Kyle’s widow and children. That is just about as low as a human can get, and I think much less of both of them.

Me thinks Chris got Breitbarted by order that came from the top. If nothing else I hope Chris’ wife and children are set for life from a $$$$ cut of this movie. I know Eastwood would never ever let her down. All is good for the Kyle family now, financially.

“The Big Red One” was a very good war movie and some what underrated because it didn’t pull in big numbers at the box office.
