My condolences as a Hockey Fan.
Thanks for posting. I was a kid back then when Bob Wilson was announcing and the Bruins were at the top of the sports world. Orr, Sanderson, Esposito. . . great memories. RIP Bob.
R.I.P.
I go back to Milt Schmidt.
.
I remember when the Boston Bruins lost 4-3 to the Quebec Nordiques on February 8, 1981. I was at that game and sat right near the booth where Bob Wilson was announcing from.. And then I went to Parris Island for boot camp two days later. It was the last hockey game I ever attended.
He was, by all accounts, a very nice guy.
I recall years ago, driving the roads of New England with friends when we were away from our known stations, going up and down the dial trying to find the Bruins game.
When we hit a station with his voice, we could recognize it INSTANTLY even if we only hear one or two words, and knew it was the Bob Wilson.
RIP Bob, and thank you.
RIP.
I grew up listening to Bob. RIP
