ROME (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Human activity has pushed the planet across four of nine environmental boundaries, sending the world towards a "danger zone", according to a study published on Thursday in the journal Science.
Climate change, biodiversity loss, changes in land use, and altered biogeochemical cycles due in part to fertilizer use have fundamentally changed how the planet functions, the study said.
These changes destabilize complex interactions between people, oceans, land and the atmosphere, said the paper "Planetary Boundaries: Guiding human development on a changing planet" by 18 leading international researchers.

Along with making the pit too big in the avocado, God really messed up by putting His beloved creation on the poor old Earth....
Clearly the only solution is one-world government by faceless bureaucrats.
Oh Crap..Not the dreaded “Danger Zone”.
Yes, the answer has been staring us in the face all along. Huge energy taxes, spent on high-speed rail, underserved women's health and community organizing.
Back at ya! LOL
They have to prove it. Which they can’t.
I do my best to help along the same lines, granted a few decades earlier and different make. The 350 has a slight valve lifter click. One day I will get around to it.

Nine boundaries? Only nine?
These “boundaries” are artificial and pretty much meaningless, set in arbitrary manner and without any real logic or reasoning upon which to base them, other than to say “Mankind is bad for the planet.”
All the reasoning, such as it is, is backward from that point. What are we, some alien species that somehow was “seeded” on this world? The cycle of water vapor + carbon dioxide —> free oxygen + carbohydrates (and its reversal) has been going on ever since there was sufficient number of complex proteinaceous compounds to use energy to drive this equation. And this presence of these complex molecules has led to a hellish atmosphere indeed, with some 20% of the atmosphere polluted with the second most chemically active substance in the Universe. If this planet could survive that highly destructive element being turned loose, it can survive most anything.
Does this mean that the Earth needs more cowbell? Maybe Walken should chime in!
"The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after were gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, cause thats what it does. Its a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed, and if its true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new pardigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesnt share our prejudice towards plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didnt know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, Why are we here? Plastic... *sshole."
