Well, seeing how Patrick Stewart happens to be exceedingly annoying himself, he is probably a good pick to act out annoying airline passengers.

Although I hate to fly, I’ve had mostly good luck with my traveling companions.

The overly talkative seatmate who simply doesn’t “get” the fact you simply want to relax and read a book or watch a video.

I have been on 23 hour flights where half the seats have been removed to tie down crates of live chickens and pigs ans I find people more annoying.

I would have said the 300 lb. Black Woman who sat right next to me. Fortunately she was funny and pleasant.

The one I really remember was the petroleum engineer who sat beside me from Tulsa to Atlanta.

He lectured me about petroleum products all the way and surprisingly, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. The subject is a lot more interesting than one might think.

In my corporate life I did a lot of domestic traveling in the late 80s and early 90s. Based in the Bay Area my main destinations were Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Dallas and Phoenix. In my later years all of my trips focused on operations west of the Rockies and I was fortunate to have use of our corporate planes.

In 2002 I had to make a commercial trip to Chicago, then Seattle and Back to SJ. That was my last trip in a commercial plane stuffed to the gills with sick, slobbering and rude people - all who think they are the only ones on the earth.

One thing I can still remember is how the minute the plane came to a stop every one jumped up and started grabbing their junk out of the overhead bins so they could just stand there in aisle and wait. It was stupidity on display. I've often wondered why the FAs don't stand in the front, ask everyone to stay seated and exit two or three rows at a time.

Anyway, I pledged to never get in one of those disease infested sardine cans again and I'm so far making good on my personal promise. Anything I care to see in the good old US of A can be driven to, or I don't need to see it.

I had a woman who was so large she couldn’t fit in the seat with the center arm rest down sit next to me. I spent three hours squished against the side of the plane.

Fat people with fat hips squeezed under the armrest and against your leg.
And a soaking wet pant leg from their sweat. 5-hour leg of that from ORF to RNO.

I sat in front of 2 men on a flight from DC to Houston. The men tried to outdo each other by bragging about their huge homes in rich neighborhoods, fancy cars, and other possessions. They talked about the country clubs they belong to, the art that hung in their fancy homes, the vacations they had been on and all that kind of stuff. It went on and on and on, I was so sick of listening to them brag I was about to scream SHUT THE F UP!

Then the conversation took a turn, they started talking about the rich and influential people that they knew. I didn't know any of those people....... until finally I heard a name I knew.............. I was about to hear some gossip about someone that I didn't care much for........ It must have been bad because after practically shouting for an hour ........ their voices turned into whispers and I couldn't hear a word!

Standard fare for most annoying people I’ve ever flown with, but the most enjoyable was one flight from Providence to Las Vegas on Southwest.

The flight attendant’s pre-flight speech was hysterical:

“Should we experience a loss in cabin pressure, oxygen masks will descend from the compartment above you. If you’re traveling with children, secure your own mask first, then decide which child has the most potential and secure theirs next.”

and

“Should our Southwest flight suddenly become a Southwest cruise, remember that your seat cushion doubles as a floatation device. Kick paddle kick paddle all the way to shore and we’ll be right behind you with peanuts and coke.”

and the best,

“For those of you traveling with children under the age of two...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?!?!?”

Can’t remember the worst, but will always remember the most interesting seat mate. Was on a flight from Houston to Orlando, got to sit next to Thomas Stafford, Apollo 10 commander. It was 4 or 5 yrs ago... I think he must have been around 80 years old What an interesting trip/conversation. After all of his achievements (Gemini, Apollo) and fascinating life,he and his wife adopted when they were in their 70’s! His son was just getting ready to go off to college in Texas, so he must have graduated by now.
How unselfish is that!?!Talk about living life to the fullest!
