Doris Day was fortysomething in 1966. At the time reviewers were saying that the sands of time were starting to run a bit thick for her sexy roles.

Her films were already known for utilizing gauze filters in closeups.

In private life, a good person. Doris Day is called an animal rights activist but she is the real deal since her work involves funding shelters & other facilities that actually benefit animals.

I think I read she’s a Republican. Of course, how conservative or liberal a Republican I do not know. I respect how she left acting and the public eye in the 1970s after such a successful career and focused her time, money and energy on other things.

I think “The Glass Bottom Boat” was the best of her films made post-1963.
