Feminists insist that it is always women who want to abort, that their impregnators always want to force them to have the baby. That is why being pro abortion is being pro-woman, according to feminists.
No. I have had fellow deputies arrested and prosecuted for worse. These men, and women who put on the badge do so originally with the highest hopes and best of intentions. Eventually, their flaws and humanity shows through. It’s a tragedy...that’s what it is. There are few “knights in shining armor” left in this world. Of those that are...some wear badges, and some don’t.
Now that is a really good question.
Thought about why that hasn't happened: But the reality is that no ordinary citizen would be allowed to get anywhere near such a protected space, and to effect such a thing you basically have to be confronted with the crime - going looking for it would end up being reasonably characterized as "vigilantism".
But I believe it has been tried in the past - Operation Rescue in the 1980s. Didn't get them anywhere.
Now that’s an honest answer.
In the current climate, me making a “snarky” comment is asking for a flame war, I’m aware of that.
But incidents like this remind us that police departments have to recruit from the human race, as a federal bureaucrat once said.
I honestly don’t know what to do about abortion. Ask ourselves, what if the average abortionist were subjected to a police presence during every “procedure” - I mean, they’re killing someone without their permission, you know?
Procedure in the Death Penalty is rigidly adhered to. And those guys did something really heinous to deserve it.
Why not subject the baby killing trade to the same oversight? “Broken Glass” enforcement...slip up a little, use a flimsy excuse for a late term abortion, oops you didn’t try to save the kid who was Born Alive, you’re busted.
I guess I’m disappointed that someone hasn’t gone that distance. Maybe the cultural climate hasn’t permitted it.
Exactly.
While I certainly appreciate what most law enforcement do every day the fact remains that they’re not infallible. They make mistakes and some of them are petty, criminal, ignorant, bullying, and rapacious.
But the vast majority seems dedicated to covering for the minority who cross the line.
And that’s where I get lost on this because to me their silence is consent.
Heh. The guys are nowhere near that responsible, as you obviously know.
And this case makes the point...
You, and I see on the same line my Freend. I’m so enraged at the condition, and direction of our country. The truly innocent are slaughtered without an apology, and the most heinous among us receive reward in the form of books, fame, movies, pardons, and empathy from the media.
Thank God my kids have listened to the lessons I learned. They do the March for Life every year. My son calls out his university professors, and my daughter denounces her high school colleagues who have been brainwashed to support evil.
However, my fellow Christian deputies, and I are waiting to get purged from our careers. When that happens you better be well armed Freend (I know I will be). Thank you for the excellent dialogue. This is what makes us the FreeRepublic.
It's interesting on your profile page that you mention ancestry.
We share that. That's one reason my handle is Regulator. You can read about them.
But can we ask ourselves if the men who wrote the Declaration and the Constitution had ANY belief that their words would be misconstrued to find such a vile "right"?
Undoubtedly they were aware of such practice. Perhaps like slavery, it was a distasteful reality that they would have outlawed in general but allowed the State's to determine some other course. Or perhaps they couldn't even conceive of it - would have been preposterous to think it!
Our families were here then - almost all were devoted Christians, and had huge families because they cherished their children, and believed the commandment: be fruitful and multiply.
A nation populated by such people was self governing. All the Founders understood that.
So the split second you do away with that ethic....no more self government. You can't hire enough cops to police an immoral populace.
And the fundamental immorality is disrespect for life. "Only God can take life"....it was catechism.
So in that way, Roe was the knife in the heart of America.
I didn't understand it as such in January of 1973. I suppose it's only something I've come to understand in the intervening 4 decades.
But such a thing was not ever in the plans of our ancestors, I know THAT for a fact. And IF the nation is to survive, it will have to go.
You are my brother Freend. My family fought in the burning of Jamestown, Bacon’s rebellion, The Revolution, the Civil War (Confederates), WWII, Korea (my father), Vietnam (Uncle, and Father in Law), Gulf War I (brother), (I was in Bosnia, and Haiti as a Marine), Irag and Afghanistan (brother), and we no doubt be a part of CWII. Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.
