That is about 1/3 of my phones storage...no wonder people are complaining.
It has ALWAYS been that way. Operating Systems are part of the what a computer needs to function, and new ones generally take more space than old ones. If you got a Coleco Adam or a Commodore 64 or an Apple IIe, you'd have maybe half the RAM memory advertised for actual use. In the case of the iOS products, we are talking about storage memory, but the same principle applies.

Apple has been hit with a lawsuit alleging that it doesnt inform users just how much storage its new operating system will eat up ..." It looks like the Asbestos/Mesothelioma lawsuit money is starting to dry up.
Most of these type cases shold not be labeled "Class Action" but rather "Lawfirm/"I-have-to-keep-up-payments-on-my-Mercedes & yacht" lawsuits.

This rule does not apply because Apple products are designed with numbskulls and techn-phobes in mind such as global warmists, women, gays, thespians, hipsters and confirmed urbanites

This reminds me of that classic quote that was (falsely) attributed to bank robber Willie Sutton who, when asked why he robbed banks, said “that’s where the money is”.

If i remember correctly the Commodore 64 after the OS was installed had around 35k left over for programs.

Found a Dell Dimension from '04 with a 34GB, stuck in 2 drives from the spares bin, they're 8 and 6GB. Good for little but addenda and games, like this one:

A needed correction to what you typed. I updated my Iphone 5 to Version 8.1.2 two days ago. I did it while plugged into Itunes. It still required the 4GB of free space on the Iphone. I had to copy a lot of stuff off of the Iphone and make the space. Even while pluggd into Itunes and while taking the update through Itunes.

No SD card slot to add storage because greedy CRapple-basturds want to bump you up to the more expensive models with larger storage.

If you really more storage space, then you probably need to get a life away from your phone.
My 32 gig iPhone has more than enough storage, and my 64 gig iPad has WAY WAY more than I need.

Forget Apple ... I’m going after Commodore! My Vic 20 is woefully inadequate!

numbskulls and techn-phobes in mind such as global warmists, women, gays, thespians, hipsters and confirmed urbanitesYour list doesn't include me. I just got an iPhone 6 a couple days ago. Updated from a 5-year old 'Envy' - most probably don't remember that phone. And I don't fit into any of your other categories.
I do hate the way that everyone seems to measure 'gig' as 1 billion...I think my 16 'gig' phone came with something close to 14.9 actual 'gig'. But it isn't just apple that does it...

Yep - We had to get a MacBottom back in the day because that rotten Apple didn’t provide enough storage for our little business - where can I get in on the loot??

Yeah!! Go for the deep pockets! Now that you mention it, I was woefully abused by my Sinclair Z81, too. Wonder if they have any money left n the bank.

This is crazy. Just add a mini SD card if you need more storage. You can do that. right?Sure. It plugs in right next to the USB port.

I’m going to sue the real estate agent then, because my house isn’t big enough to hold all of the stuff I’ve bought since the sale closed. :)

I was just FORCED to buy a new Ipad from these crooks. As I downloaded the new Ios it would get to 98% then lock up. Took it to the Apple store and suddenly I have a hardware problem they cannot fix. The thing worked great until I attempted to install the upgrade and now it has a hardware problem! It is only 1.5 years old. Can you say SCAM?
To: NoLibZone
They give free icloud storage thats the same size as the OS. The OS is only 1.1 to 1.4 Gigabytes in size, the free iCloud size is 5 Gigabytes. What the plaintiffs are erroneously claiming is the size of the OS is the storage workspace space on the device required for WIFI downloading, decompression, and processing to install it.

I was forced to buy a SuperMac 20 MB external drive for my Mac 128 because Apple didnt provide enough storage for my needs. Can I get in on this lawsuit? Naw, you'd have to bring your own. . . But I think the statute of limitations, as well as the Law of Hammurabi, may have expired on your case due to too much time passing since your injury. So, very, very, very, very, very, sorry.
