When women first started coming forward to accuse Bill Cosby of rape last month, the public was surprised due to his flawless reputation as 'America's dad'.
It has now been revealed that a team of lawyers and publicists worked tirelessly to keep his image pristine for decades, by silencing alleged victims and keeping the media from reporting their claims, the New York Times reports.
That apparently all-male team includes $850-an-hour Hollywood lawyer Martin Singer (whose clients include Charlie Sheen and Arnold Schwarzenegger), former William Morris agent Norman Brokaw, his publicist son David, and New York lawyer John P Schmitt.

If the accusing women will remain quite for compensation, what credibility do their accusations actually have?

“quite” should have been “quiet”
So does this mean the press will finally talk about Bill Clintons rape and multiple sexual assaults if Hitlery Rotten runs for Empress?
Cosby’s efforts have never been to prove his innocence, but only to deal with the negative consequences of his 45 years of sexual assaults.
Rather coming out like a bull to deal with the absurdity of “America’s Dad” being accused of being a lifelong serial rapist, instead his actions and efforts have always been that of a rich and powerful serial rapist, managing and attempting to limit the fallout of an ongoing sexual perversion.
Likely; it’s too juicy of a story and it’s no longer possible to bury stories or anything that goes on.
You are describing something that isn't the reality, in your efforts to defend Cosby.
An attempt to claim that these dozens of women have all been paid off to remain quiet, which just isn't true at all.

Only when she is no longer a viable candidate. Then he is dead meat.
People don’t seem to know that Cosby has been handling his sex stuff and the media throughout his 50 year career, and him being married the entire time.
Cosby is like Michael Jackson, in that he has always had a lifestyle that he had to maintain a team of lawyers, to enable him to continue living it.

Good this is coming out while he is alive. He had the chance to defend himself had he been innocent; which it appears he isn’t.

Some slow witted people will think these observations are somehow a defense of Cosby, which they are not.

I’m not really seeing how that would work out in reality. I mean, the guy yelling “I’M NOT A RAPIST” is not necessarily going to convince anyone.

Cosby has been fighting sexual scandals for his entire career, and has probably spent millions, like Michael Jackson it has taken some of the most famously aggressive and expensive lawyers to cover for his sexual tastes.
In regards to the rapes, an innocent man would have spent his money and used those lawyers to make it clear that he never raped the woman, or the women, if a second faker came forward, but in Cosby’s case, it is dozens of women, from all over, and 5 different decades, and he has never so much fought to prove his innocence, but to maintain his lifestyle, and to squelch the media, in one case he even traded an exclusive on his daughter’s drug scandal, to squelch a story on him.

Well, how do you know what an innocent man would do? Have you ever been falsely accused of this type of thing?
I have, and it pretty much boils down to “he said, she said”. Those who are inclined to believe the woman will believe her, no matter how preposterous the story, or how strenuous your denials.
I know because we have many examples of such a thing, although we don’t have any examples of a rich celebrity being accused of being a lifelong serial rapists.
You being accused of a single “he said, she said” shouldn’t confuse you to this Bill Cosby problem of dozens of women, from different cities and states detailing rapes and sexual assaults covering 5 decades, and them currently ranging in age from 24 to their mid 70s.
Do you really want to compare your bad experience with a nut case to that, or think that a single “he said, she said”, could not be easily dealt with by a beloved father figure worth 400 million dollars?
By the way, Cosby did deal with an attempted shakedown by a woman claiming to be his daughter, in that situation, he had her sent to prison.
