I like the Patrick Stewart version too.
I like it for the production values; but it’s funny - my husband is younger than I am, and he’s a HUGE fan of Star Trek - Next Gen. But, he prefers the George C. Scott.

I just finished watching that one ... just seemed to be missing something. It was like they were trying to jam three hours of story into 90 minutes. I know this is not true, just the impression I get every time I watch this version.
