DENVER (AP) Using marijuana in Colorado is legal. But the drug remains illegal federally and therefore is a disqualifier for obtaining a permit to carry a concealed firearm.
The so-called "Colorado Campaign for Equal Gun Rights" wants to put a question on the November 2016 ballot asking voters to change state law to prevent sheriffs from denying permits due to marijuana use.

Think Ritalin and recent school shootings.
Where are the beer permits?
“Here, hold my roach.”
“Watch this y’all...”
I love these pot threads, they produce the strangest of comments.
Alcohol is not federally prohibited.
What could go wrong?
bump
or kids
We are still struggling with the words “Shall not be infringed”.
“I don’t think anyone who uses psychotropic drugs should be allowed anywhere near firearms.”
“Think Ritalin and recent school shootings.”
Can you cite more than one school shooting that was caused by the shooter taking Ritalin?
Which part of “shall not be infringed” are you having the most trouble with?
BIG difference between pot and ritalin. Molon labe, leftist. I dare you to come for my guns.
How about permits for pot users. Easily issue permits for those pot users and automatically revoke DL for using pot.
Well, it was. So it must have been evil back then. But now the feds sanction it again, so obviously it is good again.
"Conservatives" should always look to their betters to find out what is "good" and what is "bad".
Colorado can do (and did) as they wish. 10th Amendment to the max!
However, the hard and fast rule applies: Play stupid games - win stupid prizes.
And voters there made stupid decisions that they have to live with.
They're both psychotropic, ie. mind altering.
Molon labe, leftist
Sorry pal, the true left embraces illegal drug use, not I.
Lots of people drink(among other things) and have carry permits.
There shouldn’t even be a such thing as a “carry permit”. If you can legally own the dammed gun, you should be able to carry it in any way you please, where you are permitted to do so. What you do in the way drugs or alcohol is irrelevant.
If you’re impaired and kill someone, you’ll still go to prison, if deadly force wasn’t warranted. This is just another case of layers of laws on top of laws. It’s just stupid.
How bout stay the hell out of other's business?
