Brinsley was arrested in GA in 2005 for terrorist threats. He spoke Arabic, and was a black Muslim, so why is this part not news. Maybe he really was doing double, by killing those cops...a terrorist attack and fulfilling the protestors chants.

Brinsley suffered from Black Mohammedan syndrome. That is, the little jihadist turd muffin hated the law, law enforcement and identified with murder as a valid way to settle grievances. Unfortunately, there are many more like him who follow Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

And yet we keep hearing about how the unjust justice system locks up a certain group so much more than any one else and they're all in prison for the smallest of infractions.
The “mental illness” part is to remove all responsibility from the perp and ignore the likelihood that the next perp will be from the same group.
Did they claim the axe-wielding guy who attacked the NYC cops was mentally ill as well?
In both cases the attacks were premeditated and from the standpoint of the attackers, completely reasonable - they were attacking those standing in the way of their lives of crime, and were giving up nothing if they died in a hail of bullets.
I think Brinsley chose death over prison for shooting his girlfriend, and decided to kill some police officers before he died, out of hatred and the desire for posthumous glory.
Mentally ill, wired wrong, but not insane by legal standards, deliberately choosing evil for himself and the world.
I wonder why this newspaper calls him a “suspect”?

I suspect if he could have gotten on a train immediately he wouldn’t even have killed himself; he probably watched one pull out and realized he wouldn’t make it out (otherwise he could’ve offed himself right there on the sidewalk).
