When you think about it, why should the satellite and cable companies have to pay anything to air free content that is available by antenna?

Dish is getting pretty greedy according to my monthly bill.
A couple of years ago, my cable TV/Internet bill would increase about $3 per year in $1.50 increments. At that time, my town of 14k was studying the viability of becoming a local cable TV/Internet provider. They have been the electric provider since the early 1900s.
Cable Co begged citizens to vote it down. The issue finally went of a vote and lost by a big margin. Cable Co crisis averted.
To show their appreciation, the Cable Co raised my TV/Interent bill by about $10.00. The next year, they did the same with another near-$10.00 increase.
They did double the speed of the Internet, which is nice when they are not frequently working on their equiment and lines, thus causing sporadic and intermittent Internet outages.

Now have Charter...Ef DISH, they have been getting greedy over the years... I assure you there are no "good guys" in this negotiation. In a manner of speaking, it is like two vultures squabbling over spoiled meat. In the end, dish subscribers will pay the bill. Fox wants more money, dish knows it will have to pass it on, and wants to avoid pain on its part.
