As a volunteer at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA, I can attest to the fact that many Canadians spend the Winter months here in the beautiful desert, and they are big customers of Eisenhower. Knee and hip replacements along with other non-emergency surgeries are in great demand here by our brothers and sisters from the North. So much for the so-called great Canadian socialized health insurance program. In fact, Eisenhower has set up special payment programs for Canadians.

Yep.

Have a friend who also volunteered at Eisenhower.

He and his partner lived right down the street from Betty Ford Clinic.

Everyday, at 5pm, they put glasses of vodka on top their back fence, charging $5 bucks a shot. /S

That was their favorite joke though...

Yep - I had hernia surgery at Dolores Hope outpatient a couple of days before Thanksgiving....the nearness to that holiday was what allowed me to get it done quickly.

I'll be over there today looking for a parking space, so I can do a followup with Dr. Karl!
