We stumped another mom with "ASL." That's "age-sex-location," a phrase swapped liberally throughout the Internet when strangers meet.

I read the list and it turned my stomach, is this really where kids’ minds are today? My oldest is 15 & he shares a cell phone with his younger brother. Because it has no internet access they often forget it at home and I have a chance to check their text messages. So far it’s been squeaky clean.

If your kids are using MOST of those acronyms you have already failed as a parent.
The only kids that use those are slutty girls and creepy guys.
If you find your girls using those codes...congrats, your daughter is a slut. But you knew that already didn’t you!
If you are not taking your kids phone out of your hand, checking their texts, and asking questions you are a fool.
One afternoon I pulled a log of my kid’s texts and made a chart of them against the school days and the time of day.
I marked the areas when she shouldn’t be texting. She was texting during school and after 10 PM. I told her that I was going to do the same thing in a week. Those colored areas (when she should NOT be texting) should be clear, or she loses the phone.
Guess what? Her texts during the restricted times went to near zero.
You are either riding the bus, or driving the bus. Which are you doing?

That’s a great idea. As soon as my daughter earns her phone back (grades slipped; phone yanked) I’m going to verify that she doesn’t text during classes.
