No 9?
They want it to be called the perfect ‘10’.................
They actually did build version 9, but after beta testing, decided to call the finished product 'Windows 10'.
There are articles out there about it.
My understanding is that MSFT started on Win 9, planning on continuing the "legacy" of Win 8. But they got such bad feedback on Win 8 that they decided to drop Win 9 and begin fresh with Win 10.
IMHO, a lot of this had to do with Satya Nadella taking over from Steve Ballmer.
Why no 9?... they found that older software that would look to see what version it was on could think it was win 95 or 98.. they the just bumped the name to window 10.
I’ve ran a VM of it an like it a lot.. it’s what windows 8 could on been...
microsoft just seem to get it OS’ s right every..

Supposedly because programs check for version 95 and 98 by just using the 9
or Win 8.2
