It has all become very clear to me. The same type of person most likely to buy into the 'logic' that validates destroying their own city or destroying anyone who differs from them in any significant way, is the same type of person most likely to join ISIS as an insurgent or as a supporter. This is scary, disheartening and disgusting all at once. Both Ferguson Rioters and ISIS take an undisguised delight in demonizing and dehumanizing specific other groups based on race, religion or appearance. Both Ferguson Rioters and ISIS depend on bullying tactics to get their way. Many politician who yield to their demands end up looking weak and foolish while feeling betrayed. Notice how the rioters will justify murdering someone for no other reason except that her was a young white man. A few days ago, Zemir Begic; a (legal) Bosnian immigrant, was beaten to death by being clubbed with hammers by four or more young black men in a Ferguson neighborhood. Witnesses report hearing the crowd yelling "Kill that White Boy!". Police are 'not yet certain' if this qualifies as a hate crime.
Both Ferguson Rioters and ISIS attract the hangers on, the 'self-styled-disenfranchised'; read, lazy chronic complainers who want total freedom of individual motion, thought and lifestyle, with out taking any responsibility for the ruinous collateral damages that are always part of Anarchism. Why go to school, or work at all, when you could spend the day marching around aimlessly, complaining about whatever, then going home to a fresh government welfare check or triple extended unemployment. The loser asks, 'why even try to improve your status in life, when, according to Al Sharpton, or Obama, or Holder , or Farrakhan, or Elizabeth Warren, you have already lost the game just by not having been born rich and privledged?
Both Ferguson Rioters and ISIS attract those who wish to have their community organizers disguised as righteous or religious leaders to make decisions for them. This leaves the front line rioter and insurgents free to do their killing or their destroying with a clear conscience. They become more and more comfortable destroying a store owners livelihood, perhaps removing that store owner's head entirely when prompted by their puppetmasters. Like a low born territorial reptile, like a toxic chameleon, when massed with other aimless losers, this weak personality can develop an enthusiasm, and a compulsive hunger for the complete removal of all form of opposition. They do not respond well to what we call reason. They respond only to overwhelming force, or a drastic depletion of resources.
It’s a shame it has come to this but it’s hardly surprising. As the situation progresses, we should not forget the evil and depravity that men are capable of perpetrating against one another when their burning hatred is sufficiently stoked. We should definitely keep that in mind as they try to disarm us.
This is the Arab Spring, part Deux, in Ferguson. Excellent points.
What they praised in Egypt for the muslimBortherhood is what they hope for America as something “good”.
I would add that the rioters are simply asking for more of the same injustice since they do not believe in presumption of innocence. They are helping the police state case.
* the police state beingna function of presumption of guilt, condemning anyone and forcing them to appeal.
hmmm...that's true...
When Egypt had it’s moment of confrontation, they achieved the undeniable reward of regime change. For better or worse, Hosni Mubarak was ousted. Although, I’d be willing to bet, if one of Mubarak’s son’s ran for office today, he would be strongly supported and easily elected. If only we could be so lucky over here. But they one who some would wish out of office (Obama) is also the one constantly stirring the pot of discontent.
