CNN's Don Lemon is under fire for making the elementary observation that some of the Ferguson protesters planning violence and mayhem were smoking pot. Linking dope to violence is taboo for most of the media.
Reporting from the scene, Lemon said, "Maybe a minute, two minutes ago we heard a gunshot and watched people scattering. And we're watching people on the roofs of cars, on the tops of cars and....Obviously there's a smell of marijuana here as well."

And then ferguson went “up in smoke” he he he he he..........
I doubt many people that are rioting, burning, looting, are on marijuana. I highly, highly, doubt it. Maybe crack, maybe booze.
Totally absurd to blame marijuana for the violence in Ferguson is that is what is being claimed in this article.
I don’t doubt it at all.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), want everyone to believe that police who enforce the laws and the "War on Drugs" are the problem.Rand Paul
Dwarf on drugs.
Then you don’t know marijuana.
So, you and the mainstream media agree that marijuana is totally and completely harmless? Even if there is scientific studies which show it isn’t.
Cliff Kincaid has it backwards. They are upset because it will make Ferguson rioters look bad, not make pot look bad.
Wow. I’ve read some articles that have been reaching lately, but this one takes it to a new level.
That “medical” marijuana must be great stuff. It makes you so strong that you can break through locked doors and pick up something heavy like a television set and carry it home with you. You might even have enough energy to throw a few Molotov cocktails. I am not sure where the “medical” part ends and the “recreational” part begins, though.
Pot doesn’t cause anyone to do anything.
If the predisposition to commit assault, murder, burn buildings, and loot is there, it will happen regardless of whether or not pot is involved.
Blaming pot in this case is just another way for liberals to apologize for black criminals and their crimes.
And no, I don’t use pot or support its use.
Now, couple that induced/enhanced paranoia with the entire paranoid mindset of a group which refuses to look at evidence the shooting was justified, which blames everyone else for their problems, and is convinced that another group is 'out to get them' and there is definitely a possibility the two combine with negative effect--especially in an situation where the fundamental mindset is strongly present to begin with.
I can see it easily.
I am amazed at those who rightly claim that smoking a cigarette is harmful, even if it is filtered, but they will be the same people who claim that smoking some reefer, that has no filter at all, is somehow a healthy thing to do.
But, remember that Michael Brown, who assaulted Police Officer Darren Wilson, was high on marijuana as well.
++++
I assume this is so but do we know it for certain? Was the autopsy report included in the released Grand Jury documentation?
Helps with recreational looting and recreational arson.
I'm sure most were high on more than just marijuana, but I bet the vast majority were also high on a combination of substances that included marijuana.
