For some reason, I don’t find it surprising that Oregon is a hotbed of climate alarmism. Thus, when the Portland Tribune recently published an article describing how Oregon’s “warmer climate imperils our health,” it seemed appropriate to look further into the claims being made.
Apparently, climate change in Oregon will lead to “less snow on Mount Hood? [but] we can live with that.” Interesting, given how there has been no significant trend in maximum overwinter snowpack on Mount Hood since records began in 1981. Indeed, according to an article in 2012 at ABC News Cleveland, snowpack in the Cascade Mountains has been increasing since the mid-1970s.

Warmer?! Here in the mid-Willamette Valley we turned on the air-conditioning maybe three times this summer. Not at all last summer. And I would say we had more rainy weather (cloudy days with drizzle) than normal this year.
With Jonathan Gruber making the news, the left should be a bit more circumspect with their lying.

Planet Earth Allegedly In The Midst Of 30-Year Cold Spell Due To Diminished Solar Activity

The earth is allegedly in the midst of a 30-year cold spell, as is apparently evident from the early icy spell across many parts of North America, as well as last winter being, “One of the snowiest, coldest, most miserable on record,” according to USA Today.
The man who made the claims is climatologist John L. Casey, who is also a former space shuttle engineer and NASA consultant. According to Casey, who just released a new book entitled, Dark Winter: How the Sun Is Causing a 30-Year Cold Spell, a radical shift in global climate is underway, as the Earth gets colder and colder.
The book alleges that due to diminished solar activity, cooler temperatures, similar to those on record from the early 1800s, cooler temperatures are on the way for the foreseeable future.
Casey told Newsmax about his theory, “All you have to do is trust natural cycles, and follow the facts; and that leads you to the inevitable conclusion that the sun controls the climate, and that a new cold era has begun. The data is pretty solid. If you look at the 100-year global temperature chart, you look at the steep drop off we’ve had since 2007, it’s the steepest drop in global temperatures in the last hundred years.”
Casey believes the theory that global temperatures are directly affected by the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is a false one, and his position is backed up by a number of prominent scientists, such as Russian astrophysicist Habibullo I. Abdussamatov, who has also stated that a new, mini-ice age has begun.
In other words, it’s more a case of global cooling than of global warming.
To Casey’s mind, the theory of global warming is a false one, for a number of different reasons, as he told the publication, “No. 1, the greenhouse-gas theory, and the global climate models that they produced, never permitted a pause. As long as CO2 levels were going up, the only thing that could happen was global temperatures could go up. That has not happened. No. 2, there could absolutely be no cooling, much less a pause. And yet we’ve been cooling for 11 years now.”
If Casey is right, the world is currently preparing for the wrong eventuality, as the predominant view is that of global warming and not global cooling. Nevertheless, Casey warns, “We don’t have 10 years. We’ve squandered during President Obama’s administration eight years… and we didn’t have eight years to squander.”
If you kepp digging deep enough into the whole concept of Climate Change/Global Warming you will find that someone or groups of investors are making a whole lot of money by promoting it. It’s the old story “Follow the Money”.
Totally opposite here in southern Oregon. Last summer set
an all time record for Grants Pass, for the driest and hottest summer ever. Rain? what’s that?
Neither Mr. Gruber, nor real facts, are discussed by the MSM.
IOW, the lefties and greenies have doomed us all, as it was the C02 and Methane that would have saved us (warmed us all). /s
On the bright side, those lucky enough to still have a wood stove or fireplace (most having been regulated away for like reasons) will have plenty of trees to cut, ironically...
...if they can find gas for their chainsaws...
