WASHINGTON The Obama administration on Friday unveiled data showing that many Americans with health insurance bought under the Affordable Care Act could face substantial price increases next year in some cases as much as 20 percent unless they switch plans.
The data became available just hours before the health insurance marketplace was to open to buyers seeking insurance for 2015.
An analysis of the data by The New York Times suggests that although consumers will often be able to find new health plans with prices comparable to those they now pay, the situation varies greatly from state to state and even among counties in the same state.
Consumers should shop around, said Marilyn B. Tavenner, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which runs the federal insurance exchange serving three dozen states. With new options available this year, theyre likely to find a better deal. She asserted that the data showed that the Affordable Care Act is working.

All Obama has to do is refuse to let the two pipelines connect at the international border. This is his right as president. He can do this on his own without the consent of any other legislative body. What’s the over/under on that one?
The criminals behind Obamacare’s massive expansion of government and its destruction of America’s healthcare system — should be punished in the most severe means legally possible.
Watch Democrat shills like Geraldo say “more people have coverage”,
while disregarding the ‘little guy’ who put the effort into paying their own insurance when it was affordable...
Time to use public opinion to get Democrats to go along on a Veto-Over-Ride on the Affordable Health Care Act.
Have a 6 hour ‘Veto’ seminar for the low information/willing accomplice media using real credible experts.
I heard that the pipeline won’t be functional for 6 years.

Q: Can you give us an update on the health care [inaudible] how close were
Speaker Pelosi. Heres where we are. I have been in a meeting for four hours, but when I talk to the Members again today I will be talking to them about that issue of fiscal soundness, which is what we heard over and over again from our experts. They talked about how we needed to be fiscally sound, but we needed to invest in jobs. But they said in the health care bill we really have to do the job of taking down cost. We said that that was a universal message.
And that is what our purpose is, is to improve quality, lower cost, expand coverage, and retain choice for those who like what they have. And in doing so, as the President has said: Health care reform is entitlement reform and entitlement reform is essential to lowering the deficit.
And what I will show Members today is how what we are about to receive from the CBO shows how we are fiscally sound as we accomplish the purposes that I just mentioned and we will continue to work for the rest of the day on that. We are moving forward in a very positive way.
Tell me about it. I just looked at the replacement Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans available after my current plan was cancelled. The price for a comparable plan (HSA eligible) is an increase of 84%.
Our “betters” are chronic liars. Liars lie...that’s what they do. This gruber oaf only let out what the “elites” feel about everyone who isn’t like them. All of these dishonest criminals should be in prison. Their families should be shunned in their communities. All are malignant subhuman degenerates.
