Thank you! I probably did leave things a little late. We’ll see how things turn out next year. My mom loved tulips. It’s her garden and her landscape that I’m trying to revitalize with flowers. I appreciate your advice!
Mrs. Augie put some venison in the freezer yesterday afternoon. I saw quite a few but let them all walk on. I'm waiting for the big boy to come by on my side of the fence. It was a bit chilly Saturday morning but I stayed warm in the condo of doom thanks to Mr. Heater.
Leaves are tilled in, garlic is planted, firewood is stacked. Elephant ear roots are dry in the garage along with other tender plants that come in every winter like the fig trees. Gardenias and some others are in the “parlor” where it is nice and toasty warm.
What a lovely picture.
My grand daughter’s husband got a buck on Saturday. Not sure how many points, but they need the meat. She got her first deer when she was around 16, but she doesn’t really hunt anymore - 3 kids and no one to babysit long enough to go to the woods.LOL
This pumpkin breeding project has been very educational in many ways. It's amazing the variety of flavors you can get from a pumpkin. So far, I've gotten starchy, fruity, bland, bitter, and foul. That last one was a surprise, I had to gargle with chocolate and scrub my tongue with a toothbrush, just to get the taste out! You wouldn't think a pumpkin could do that!
Other than the squash, I found a cart for my freeze-dryer project, made greek yogurt, boiled the whey from said yogurt to make cheese, decided on what to make for Christmas presents, and applied for a new job. So, yes, a productive weekend indeed!
If you have the ability to do so , put some phosphate , or lesser amounts of superphosphate in the ground around the bulbs.
Then by next summer , you should have some additional bulbs , or smaller bulbetts around the base to multiply in the garden.
Bulbetts should grow to sufficient size to replant by next fall, on their own.
Thank you! If I used my soapy dish water, would that work if it has phosphates or should I buy some phosphates.
Thank you again for your valuable advice. I’ll to to my local Ace hardware.
