Abortion rights advocates in Tennessee are organizing a mock funeral Saturday to mourn the loss of reproductive rights after the pro-life measure, Amendment 1 passed in the state, where they will march past an alter outside a Memphis abortion clinic.
Tennessee voters approved Amendment 1 on Nov. 4. The pro-life measure reads, nothing in this Constitution secures or protects a right to abortion or requires the funding of an abortion. The people retain the right through their elected state representatives and state senators to enact, amend, or repeal statutes regarding abortion, including, but not limited to, circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape or incest or when necessary to save the life of the mother.
As the Commercial Appeal reports, the morning after the Nov. 4 election, pro-choicer organizers Sarah Ledbetter and Bethany Bak were upset about the passage and began texting opponents of the pro-life amendment.

I regard reproductive rights as civil rights, Ledbetter said. From what I understood about the amendment, it was a move to curtail those rights. So theres nothing right about that in my world view.
The abortion advocate took to Facebook to organize what she calls the 2ND LINE FUNERAL FOR EVERYONES REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS.
The event post reads, Meet at Noon at the Overton Park Shell.. then TAKE to the streets in your fanciest black garb, your tennis shoes, and your dancing umbrella. Join your fellow Memphians who choose to act out, to sing, and to dance our belief in the human and CIVIL right to CHOOSE your OWN adventure.
Second line parades, famous to New Orleans, are marked with dancing and music in the street.
Its not a protest, Ledbetter said. Its a funeral. We are mourning and grieving and celebrating whats possible. Nothing is written in stone until we all give up.
Organizers say that an alter will be placed in front of Choices abortion clinic in Memphis, where, according to Ledbetter, you may place funeral wreaths, flowers, and photos of loved ones whose lives have been touched by reproductive health needs and choices. From there we high step it and dance our spirits up to the skies!
Ledbetter is the Co-Founder at Memphis Dance Makers Workshop, Movement Educator & Artist at Company d and Farm Hand, Dancer at Delta Sol Farm.
The group has uploaded a YouTube of the songs they plan to use at the funeral!
Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, Inc., a national pro-life organization located in Denton, Texas responded to the charade by pointing out that abortion advocates know how to make funerals, Its what they specialize in, he said.

Tennessee ping
Abortion is about the farthest thing from a “right” one can get. Too bad our schools and population largely do not know what rights are.
Abortion advocates know how to make funerals and mock funerals. The ancient murderer could not be more pleased.
bass ackwards
These people are all insane puppets of evil.
Good. The more they pull this crap, the crazier they look to normal people.
This is one of those times I would have absolutely no problem with displaying the graphic pictures of dismembered and mutilated victims of abortion. None at all.
But Lord, I'm so glad we don't.
There are/were allowed exceptions of conscience of the patients religious beliefs where the patient choose to further endanger her own life in order to try and in doing so take the baby to a point where the baby stood better odds of survival. That was the mothers choice and always has been in this state.
The doctors would take the child via C-Section most likely the least risk and least traumatic and then GOD's Will be done for the child's survival. As far as I know in Tennessee saving the life of the mother has always had legal and an established medical precedent. They are using an established long standing non debatable non issue for fearmongering political purposes.
AS for the other reasons. I know this for 100% fact. There are many, many, couples in this state who want to adopt newborns. There are far more willing couples than babies. Instead they must go to private venues such as church ran adoption agencies and wait perhaps years. Tennessee Dept of Children Services will even tell you this. The kids they take into foster care are generally not up for adoption.
Are they using the same altar that they sacrifice babies on or do they have another one for their “Civil Rights”?
There’s not enough money on Earth to buy wreaths for all the babies they’ve killed. God help them when their time comes.

The article said you may place funeral wreaths, flowers, and photos of loved ones whose lives have been touched by reproductive health needs and choices..."
I envision wreaths with pictures of bloody mutilated heaps of babyparts --- yes, Fletcher Armstrong's pictures--- with some caption like "another life touched by reproductive choice." Or even more grim: "My loved ones are good and dead. How about yours?"
Sent him an email. I also got on the local talk show this morning and shared the article to the host’s facebook.
If you have a chance to do this, do it.
I can think of so many captions for pictures of the dead babies, some sad, some poignant, some satirical. One of the 'borts suggested a slogan for their parade, "Make it. Own it. Love it. " I don't know what they're "making" or "owning," but I would use her caption with a LARGE lovable attractive picture of a frisky fetus.
I’m from Memphis and am quite familiar with this particular baby murder clinic so beloved by progressives. My church does sidewalk evangelism there and by God’s grace has been used to influence a number of young women to have their babies. Some of these proponents of baby murder are the most miserable, hardened, and vile women you can possibly imagine.
But in America, many worship the bloodthirsty god 'Convenience', and slaughter their unborn children in sacrifice to it.
