Indeed, it comes down to an origins issue.

If you believe the Christian worldview, “fossil” fuels are here for us to use and flourish.

(T)he atmosphere today has 400 ppm of CO2, up from 300 ppm in 1900 …
How were they measuring atmospheric carbon dioxide in 1900? They sure didn’t have CO2 sensors back then.

As for today’s alleged measurements, taking them on top of an active volcano (such as Mauna Loa) is the worst place to do it.

That’s precisely the point, though, isn’t it.

The environmentalists want the human race to move back into caves, scratching for fleas and cowering by the buffalo dung fire, so that Mother Gaia can take over the planet untroubled by the ‘two-legged scourge.’

The word “fossil” is an incorrect adjective. Carbon based fuels, yes. Fossil fuel, no.

The earth produces carbon based fuels in abundance. Fossils need not apply.

The process of producing oil involves Calcium Carbonate (chalk), Iron Oxide (rust), and DiHydrogenMonoxide (water) at great pressure at a depth of approximately 60 km below the surface of the earth.

Liberals have no problem condemning the world to tge trash heap of African style poverty as long as they get to watch it on tv from their climate controlled living rooms. Everyone but then should be burning elephant dung for cooking, eating roots, and dying in their 30s. It is much more noble than living comfortably in a house with running water and sewers.

Well said.

And, if you believe the naturalistic materialist's view, well, then everything is here by accident and who should really care, at all? After all, if randomness and natural selection produced these things, then it can produce them again, and again, and again. Why buck a system and try to "preserve" anything? It all comes and goes and comes again and goes again.

Sometimes, these hypocritical boneheads really chap my hide.

Motor Trend (I think it was — might’ve been another car mag) ran an article in the 1970s with “we’ll run out of fuel in the next few decades” quotes for every decade going back to 1900 or 1910. None of them came true, obviously, and neither did the dire predictions in the 1970s.

As Julian Simon points out, humans are “the Ultimate Resource”, so the biggest risk of disaster is when a government puts severe limits on human creativity and human freedom of exchange — which socialism seems designed to do.

Greenhouses work. Greenland will actually be green. In the future as in the past everything will get bigger.

Well said--God created them specifically for our use, even as He provided us with other materials on which to base a high-technology society. He does expect us, however, to manage them wisely.

Agreed. But, the bizarre eco-nuts behave as if their running around in personal jets to teach us not to go to the store, owning 7 monster homes (Moore & Gore) while we are to get by on 200 sq ft "tiny homes" and charging simpletons $ 250K per speech to tell them they are bad is helping us be "wise". They are so hypocritical that I gag every time they open their mouths.
