Still curious:
Where are these mosaics? A public space or private home/house? The article mentions some carved rock houses and, oh yeah!..we also found these mosaics...It sounds like they are in different places.
What is their age?
Wonder what the 3rd one looks like?
All of this is neater than sliced bread....
The public spaces of the Roman Empire tended to not spend a lot of cash on the floor decoration, but it wasn’t unheard of, either. Most of these mosaic floors are either from private homes, or are from the Byzantine era when they put them in churches.
