White House officials are pushing Govs. Cuomo and Chris Christie to dial down their mandatory quarantine rules and let the feds decide how to keep the deadly Ebola virus from spreading in the United States, sources told The Post on Sunday.
“They are furious [with Cuomo and Christie] and can’t believe they rolled out [the regulations] without consultation, particularly since it’s still all federal officials doing the screening at the airports,” one source told The Post.
The governors’ rules require that all aid workers returning from West Africa be quarantined for 21 days, even if they show no sign of the disease.
Sources also said that aides to President Obama had called both Cuomo — a fellow Democrat — and New Jersey Gov. Christie, a possible Republican presidential candidate, to criticize the orders they jointly announced Friday.
“We have let the governors of New York, New Jersey, and others states know that we have concerns with the unintended consequences that policies not grounded in science may have on efforts to combat Ebola at its source in West Africa,” a senior administration official said.
“We have also let these states know that we are working on new guidelines for returning health-care workers that will protect the American people against imported cases, while, at the same time, enabling us to continue to tackle this epidemic in West Africa.”
The controversy heated up when a Doctors Without Borders nurse went public with an angry attack against the policy after she was quarantined against her will in a Newark hospital.

Hmmm...I thought both Cuomo and Christie are Democrats.
He’s pissed because they are getting in the way of his crisis in the making. Florida and other states are following suit. Before you know it all 50 states will impose their own quarintine and we won’t have a crisis to take advantage.
Someone needs to clue the so-called “Constitutional Professor” in on the Tenth Amendment.
Of course it is political....Cuomo is running and Christie (who can't run) is trying to distance himself from that love fest picture of Obie and himself.
So he wants them to come over from the infected countries and then they can walk around as a please, even if it is proven they have Ebola?
How dare they appear competent! The Administration suffers in comparison. Therefore, let us drag the competent ones back to our level.

Yep .... Just wait until a kid dies from this ....you ain’t seen nothing yet ....
103 with sudden vomiting? Very unusual for a 5 yr old to come down with these symptoms for any other reason..... Very sad, as a child will simply not have the reserve to shake off this horrible disease.
Martial law and suspension of the Constitution, too.
This White House should be fumigated and the cockroaches there sent scurrying for cover. Obama can’t stand the idea that he’s not the emperor of the USA.
