(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that on September 23, 2014, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that by October 22, the Department of Justice (DOJ) must submit a Vaughn index listing Fast and Furious materials Judicial Watch sought in its June 2012 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and subsequent September 2012 FOIA lawsuit (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice (No. 1:12-cv-01510)). A Vaughn index must: (1) identify each document withheld; (2) state the statutory exemption claimed; and (3) explain how disclosure would damage the interests protected by the claimed exemption.

I had to shorten title or it would not post.
Given Holder’s penchant for ignoring the law and any rulings he doesn’t like, I’d guess, no.
They have till midnight EDT to file. It’s an online filing.
Last week the atty in a case I’ve worked with filed @11:59.25pm. Don’t know that I have the stomach to push the envelope that far, but DOJ would.
Whatever documents that finally are released will probably be so heavily redacted that they will be meaningless.
Thanks. Keep us posted.
The list is ready.
its the lead on jw
That article is not about the release of these records. Except for near the end there is a paragraph talking about the ruling for the DOJ to release the records by this date.

and ISIS pawns to begin attacks (just like every other day).

His top deputy resigned on 10/17 due to recent news about the weapons, so I believe he did:
That evidence appears to have been released by the city of Phoenix And then verified by congress. At least that is how I am reading it.
Thanks...That makes sense. By tomorrow we should know how it went I am hoping.

Might as well send 8 1/2” x 11” sheets of black paper.
It is 12:02 EST. Has anyone seen anything?
Nope no news. We’ll see if Holder is going to be in contempt of court. Judicial Watch should clue us in tomorrow.

This has got to be terrifying to Holder’s minions. The index transforms an arguement about generalities into arguements about perhaps hundreds of individual documents and their specifics.
With the index, the Judge can read each document, read the DOJ reason why they don’t want to release it, and then either agree or release it himself; Judicial Watch can then release the index, the DOJ reasons why they think it should have not been released, and the document itself.
I suspect the DOJ and Holder will be metaphorically nailed to this index and cricified on it.
Yes. I read that the article was posted on Oct. 16. We're looking for something else.
