It was a California jury. They'll give money to anyone. I'm sure this will get appealed. I doubt she'll see a dime.
Jury verdicts in civil cases are not easy to overturn on appeal. There would have to been some error by the court and that is hard to show.
Fact is. The winning party at trial always has a huge advantage on appeal.
There will probably be an appeal filed but mostly it be done to try and negotiate down the size of the award and/or the cost bill.
