According to several reports, they tried. But, Belize wouldn't allow them to bring her into the country. There was reportedly a med-evac "air ambulance" waiting for her at the airport there. Cruise ship was not allowed to come into port, the ship's tender was not allowed to come ashore with her aboard, then the cruise ship wouldn't allow her to return. She was denied entry by the highest levels of the government in Belize, there were repeated, escalating attempts to secure this. John Kerry was reportedly even involved with trying to negotiate the matter.

If she/he is not showing symptoms then why did the helicopter that picked up the blood not take the lab tech? The virus is supposedly not contagious if there are no symptoms so the flight crew would not be at risk. However, if there are symptoms they stand a chance infecting over 4000 people. This is insane.
