After Ebola Quarantine on Carnival Cruise, Travel Ban Issued
Uptown Mag ^ | 10-17-2014 | Angela Wilson

A Dallas lab worker who handled a specimen from Thomas Eric Duncan is on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Cruise ship liner Carnival was notified late Wednesday by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention that the woman was a lab supervisor at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital where Duncan died from Ebola earlier this month.

Although the unidentified woman is being monitored and has not shown symptoms, she has been quarantined on the ship.  US officials wanted her to deboard in Belize and fly her home but Belizian officials refused to allow her to travel through Phillip Goldson International Airport. Mexico banned the ship from docking off the coast of Cozumel, preventing any passengers from stepping foot in the country as part of its scheduled port visit.

Obama needs a CDC day of action to handle this crisis like every other. It's time for another crisis.

Should have canceled the cruise,, reschedule it.

Not sure why so many suspect health workers are so cavalier.

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and it is our duty.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?

When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.

What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? You’ve seen the stock market these last few days.

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?

I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.

I’m not quite sure how woman on a cruise ship that has no symptoms of Ebola has become a news story.

If I’d have found her, I would’ve thrown her overboard!

Are people really THIS stupid, or is it that she has a sh*tty job, in a sh*tty economy and really, REALLY needed a vacation, the health of others be d@mned?

Is she suffering the consequences of voting for 0bama? If so, why must we ALL suffer? ;)

Should have canceled the cruise,, reschedule it.

If she wanted to lose all of her money she could have done that. Cruise lines are notorious for NOT giving refunds for just about anything. Remember these people trusted the system and the CDC procedures. It wasn't "breach of procedure" like that ass Frieden was saying, but rather inadequate procedures. In retrospect obviously a mistake. She had no reason to suspect she would have been infected.

Other countries don’t seem to have a problem banning travel by potentially infected travelers.

“Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States ...”

Which person in the Obama administration would you like to decide which American citizens must be locked up in quarantine?

HEre is a video interview of a guy effected by Typhoon Amber. He is living his life , she decides to take a trip, and now his life is turned upside down.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2797403/frontier-airlines-notifies-800-passengers-plane-carried-amber-vinson-ohio-health-officials-monitor-12-people-contact-her.html

I will have no sympathy for her if she dies. She showed a reckless disregard for hundreds, if not thousands, of people.

US health care workers who had contact with the dead ebola victim are now banned from traveling on planes, ships, trains etc. But West Africans who’ve had contact with ebola victims are still allowed to come to America

If I’d have found her, I would’ve thrown her overboard!

And then the remaining passengers should throw YOU overboard for touching her. I'm amazed at the total lack of understanding for these health care workers who risked their lives to deal with the original jackass who brought it here. They were following procedures that they were told would keep them safe. Well guess what, the procedures were shit. Now they're screwed. Abmer Vincent asked the CDC REPEATEDLY if it was OK for her to fly with a 99.4 degree fever. The CDC said YES it's ok. Blame the cdc and its political masters in washington (the turd in the white house)

Meanwhile, Obama is fast-tracking Visa’s to the US from Ebola nations.
